City Description

Dennis Port is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Dennis in Barnstable County.

The Swan Pond River and Upper County Road divide Dennis Port’s western border with West Dennis. Like other villages along Nantucket Sound, Dennis Port has warm-water beaches. These beaches, such as Haigis Beach, Sea Street Beach, and Glendon Road Beach, are among those considered Cape Cod’s most desirable beaches.

Real estate prices in Dennis Port are high, with housing stock consisting mostly of World War II–era beach cottages. These cottages were built in the Cape Cod architectural style, however, many have been expanded or replaced with larger, more contemporary beach houses. Many streets in Dennis Port evoke the quaint ambience of an early-20th century seasonal retreat. There are multiple hotels, cottage retreats, and businesses which attract tourists
