City Description

Falmouth, MA, in Barnstable county, is 17 miles E of New Bedford, MA and 60 miles SE of Boston, and is in the Barnstable – Yarmouth area.

In 1660 the English colonists settled in Falmouth, and one settler, Bartholomew Gosnold, named the town “Falmouth” after his home town of Falmouth in Cornwall, England. The city was officially incorporated in 1686, when the main economy revolved around farming, salt works, whaling, shipping, and sheep husbandry. The War of 1812 left its mark on Falmouth, when part of the city was bombarded by British frigates and ships of the line. The use of trains in 1872 led to the establishment of the first summer homes. Today, the population of Falmouth decreases by over 50 percent during the winter months. The city of Falmouth development rapidly due to the improvement of the city’s highways in the early 1900s. The famous Katharine Lee Bates, the lyricist of “America the Beautiful” was born in Falmouth.

We charge $236.50 from Falmouth to Boston Logan International Airport on our Economy vehicle(SED). On our Sport Utility 6 Pax (SUV) the rate is $311.50, Please add an extra $10 when being picked up at the airport. An Early Morning Fee of $20 will be added to all pick ups between 12AM and 4AM. Tolls will be added to every trip at face value. Gratuity is not included.
